Volunteer

The Community Centre relies entirely upon  unpaid Volunteers to keep it up and running successfully.

 

Currently we need help in the following areas.

 

  • Routine cleaning of the premise . All materials provided to COSH standards.

  • Maintenance of the Playing field, Hedgerows and developing fruit orchard, Quiet area and Outside Gym area.

  • Car Park maintenance.

  • Some administrative tasks.

  • Help with IT functions.

  • Extra pairs of hands at Open Days, Garden Parties, Summer Fair. Marquee Events.

 

Volunteering ,as part of a team of like minded people, is a great way to meet people and have fun.

A long time ago when the investigation began into the possible use of the old school and then the eventual purchase in 2025, a questionnaire was sent out as to how the premises could be used. One of the suggested projects mentioned was a community garden.

The exciting news is that the Canolfan has been awarded funding from Keep Wales Tidy to provide this on your behalf. There is equipment, plants, seeds etc to the value of £2,500 available

Now – we hope – Spring is here at last, the KWT team have offered to visit and help with planning and implementing this project!

We already have a few volunteers but we would welcome input from anyone – no need for physical strength or knowledge. There is always a need for tea and biscuits apart from moral support! If you are able to help in any way, however small, we would be really pleased to hear from you to see if we can get this project “off the ground!!”
