It is six years since the Bodorgan Community School closed due to a falling number of pupils and current educational requirements.  The premises included a community area used for activities and meetings : Malltraeth Ymlaen paid for and governed this facility under an agreement with Anglesey County Council.

When the school closed there were two options for the future of the building.   Either it would be demolished and replaced with a small building on site or the community could purchase the building and grounds,  providing it was shown to be financially viable.  In 2023 the Business Plan was approved by Anglesey County Council and a three year Lease was agreed at a nominal rent.

The building was in need of a great deal of restoration and internal changes to take account of its proposed use.  Following many months of hard work, personal commitment and dedication by a small group of people, grants were acquired from The National Lottery, Cwmpas, Community Foundation Wales, and Medrwn Mon among others.  Included in this grant aid was the purchase price of £90,000.00.  Work on the restoration has been undertaken in stages in agreement with the funders.

 You, the local community, now own this immensely important asset and are able to take a positive role in deciding how the Centre is managed on a day-to-day and long term basis.
